My research explores how our experience of time is influenced by the world around us. I try to understand how changes in individual circumstances, for example, emotional states, isolation and clinical conditions affect the passage of time. I also explore how societal shifts resulting from technological advancements, disease and climate change affect individual and societal experiences of time.

I am a member of the TIMED project team based at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) in the UK. Prior to joining TIMED, I completed an MA in Language and Linguistics and an MSc in Psychology of Mental Health and worked as a research assistant in cognitive psychology as well as health research. Having lived in Germany, Spain, and the UK, I am especially interested in cross-cultural differences in digital technology use and its implications for health and wellbeing.
Prof. Dr. Chantal Martin Sölch

I am Professor in Clinical and Health Psychology, and Vice-rector for Teaching, Continuing Education, Gender Equality, and Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). My work focuses on psychology spanning the areas of clinical neuroscience and psychobiology with a particular emphasis on experimental psychopathology, and on the examinations in psychosomatics, stress, brain's reward system, and mindfulness for mental and psychosomatic disorders.
Dr. Quentin Meteier

I hold a general engineering degree (ESTIA, Bidart, France) an MSc in Embedded Systems and Robotics (University of Salford, England). I obtained my PhD in Computer Science (University of Fribourg, Switzerland). My doctoral thesis focused on the assessment of driver physiological states using machine learning techniques in automated driving. During my PhD, I also worked as a research associate at the HumanTech Institute (HES-SO Fribourg, Switzerland), where I was teaching assistant.
Mónica Fernández Boente

I studied for a Bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), followed by a Master's degree in child and adolescent psychology at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland). In addition to my position in the TIMED project, I also work as a graduate assistant in the department of psychology at the University of Fribourg and I intervene in mediated parent-child visits in the Bernese Jura.

I am involved in research on time uses and experiences. Having obtained my PhD in Psychology at Universitat de Barcelona, my research has focused on psychosocial processes such as self and identity, and how to enhance them through temporal orientations, leisure, enjoyment and autonomy in the practice of structured and unstructured activities. I have developed research in procrastination in academic and non-academic settings, being concerned with inequalities in time for women and senior people.

After I became a psychologist in the Universidad Central de Venezuela and a professional actor, I moved to Spain where I got my PhD in Psychology in the Universitat de Barcelona. My focus of interest in research integrates leisure time – experience and activities – and its inter-influences with self and identity processes, especially with regards to theatrical activities. My training as a Jungian analyst has made me integrate archetypal aspects on psychosocial processes such as leadership

I studied Social Psychology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Perú; I hold a Master’s degree in Leisure time studies, University of Deusto, Bilbao, and a PhD in Cultural management, University of Barcelona. I am a full-time Serra Húnter Lecturer at the Department of Social Psychology and Quantitative Psychology, University of Barcelona. My main focus is on the beneficial or detrimental effects of different types of motivation or motivational profiles on the outcomes of practices such as cultural leisure, sports, and academic learning.

Dr. Vanda Černohorská

I received my PhD in sociology at the Masaryk University in Brno, Czechia. During my doctorate studies, I was awarded a Fulbright grant and spent 2015/2016 at the Yale Center for Cultural Sociology. I work as a Postdoc Researcher at the Centre for Science, Technology, and Society Studies, and at the Centre for Gender & Science, at the Czech Academy of Sciences. I specialise in qualitative research emphasising intersectional perspective, feminist theories, and focus on gender inequalities.

I received my PhD in sociology from the University of Bristol in 2013 and I work as a senior researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences. My research interests encompass sociology of time, science & technology studies (STS), critical social science, social and cultural dimension of AI/ML and numismatics.

I am a PhD student in Sociology at the Charles University (CU), Prague. In my MA and BA studies, I combined Sociology program with Social Anthropology and Applied sociological research and its methodology at the Institute of Sociological Studies CU. I am interested in social science data collection and analysis methods. My dissertation research is focused on the use of digital technology tools for work management and control in gig economy and how this model is experienced by the workers.

I completed my studies in psychology at the Maria Grzegorzewska University and pursued my PhD at the University of Warsaw. During my journey I gained research experience in the Institute for Frontier Areas of Psychology and Mental Health and University of Manchester as a Visiting Researcher. My primary research interest lies in investigating psychological time in the context of individual differences and social changes. I am committed to integrating diverse research methods for deeper insights.

I am Assistant Professor at the School of Management Fribourg (HEG-FR) where I work for the Digital Business Center. Since 2016, I am lecturer at the School of Engineering and Architecture of Fribourg (HEIA-FR). At HEIA-FR, I am also researcher at the HumanTech Institute. Since 2018, I lead the Silver&Home project for the no-profit association Gérontopôle Fribourg/Freiburg.

After my Ph.D. and habilitation at the Institute of Medical Psychology at LMU, I was Research Fellow at the Department of Psychiatry at UCSD, California. My research questions in the field of cognitive neuroscience are: How do we perceive time? How is the subjective experience of time related to cognition, emotion, and bodily states?

Next to my affiliation at the Institute for Frontier Areas of Psychology and Mental Health, I am lecturer at various German Universities, cooperating staff member of the Personality and Social Adaption Laboratory of the Southwest University Chongqing in China, researcher at the National School of Business and Management of Casablanca in Morocco, research fellow at the American Counterterrorism Targeting and Resilience Institute, and member of the Radicalization Awareness Network (RAN).
